HISTORY
This section is filled with the great people representing Korea including King Sejong,
Admiral Sun Sin Yi, and Saimdang Shin. All costumes worn by these figures were
created by the world-renowned Korean costume designer, Young-hee Lee.
The size of the face and body as well as the costume and props were all ascertained
through historical research and the solo by gayageum (zither) master, Byung Gi Hwang,
is played as the theme music to convey the beauty of Korea and history.
BEAUTY SALON
Meet the actresses across time and border. This space was
set up on the theme of an actress’s powder room and you will find
wax figures of So Young Koh, the representative actress of Korea,
Audrey Hepburn, the heroine in the movie, ‘Roman Holiday’,
and Paris Hilton, one of the fashion icons of Hollywood.
FASHION STUDIO
This is the space for the world’s renowned fashion designers and fashionistas
and it exhibits the wax figures of Andre Kim who represented Korea as a fashion
designer, Tae Hee Kim, the representative fashionista and actress of Korea,
Naomi Campbell, the world’s top model, and Princess Diana who showed her
unique sense of fashion. Especially, this area also exhibits the dresses
that the designer Andre Kim personally designed and produced along with the
figures to add specialness to this fashionable space.
HALL OF FAME
You can meet the celebrities of the world also in the Hall of Fame
which is the main hall of Grévin Museum. The wax figures of Jae Seok Yu,
Korea’s national MC and a new addition to the museum in 2017,
K-POP leaders such as Psy, G-Dragon, and Rain, the king of pop
Michael Jackson, and the world class pianist, Lang Lang. Also,
you will find Angelina Jolie, one of Hollywood’s sexiest stars, and Meryl Streep,
the talented actress who won the Academy three times.
RECORDING STUDIO
This section reproduced the environment and atmosphere of an actual recording studio.
The wax figures of the world-renowned musicians present the greatest moments
in the history of music to the fans of music. Meet the wax figures of Luciano Pavarotti,
the Italian operatic tenor and one of the world’s top three tenors, Sumi Jo, the world-class soprano,
and John Lennon, the member of the legendary pop band of England, The Beatles.
HALLYU WOOD
This section reproduced the drama shooting studio with props,
Jimmy Jib cameras, and so on. You will find the wax figures of Hallyu stars
such as Soo Hyun Kim, Shin Hye Park, Min Ho Lee, Keunsuk Jang,
and Bin Hyun along with the lively sound effects that you might have heard in
actual drama shooting studios. This is the hottest section of the museum
among foreign visitors as well as domestic fans.
CASINO ROULETTE
Enjoy a game of roulette like the scene from < Ocean’s Thirteen >
where the wax figures of Brad Pitt and George Clooney are located.
Scan the target on a roulette carpet shown on a huge 46-inch screen
and start the game. Four people can play together at the same time.
INVENTORS
From Leonardo da Vinci, the artist, scientist, engineer, city planner, and philosopher
representing the renaissance period to Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple who created
iPhone with innovative ideas and artistic senses, meet the wax figures of the genii
of the century who changed the world through science and innovation.
QUIZ OF GENII
In this classroom themed space, you can challenge various quiz games
about IT & science using the tablet PC placed on the desk with Steve Jobs
who founded Apple with innovative ideas and artistic senses and Einstein who
established the theory of relativity.
AIRPLANE LANDING SIMULATOR
The pilot simulation has realistically reproduced the cockpit of an actual
airplane, and the video played on the huge curved screen changes according
to the control of the game player. The sound was also produced based on the
recordings from the actual airport and airplane in order to give a realistic
atmosphere of flying on an airplane leaving the airport.
BASKETBALL GAME WITH MICHAEL JORDAN
Play free throw with the score board and basketball stand.
When you are successful, the score will appear on the display. When the ball touches
the back board, the visual effect will appear on the panel, giving dynamic response and fun.
WAX FIGURE MAKING
This section gives the chance to experience the process of making
wax figures digitally. Have yourself scanned three dimensionally
and choose hair and costume to design your figure by yourself.
Your own figure image you designed can be sent to your e-mail.
POP ART MAKING
The special photo booth to experience Andy Warhol’s
pop art contents also make special memories for visitors.
When visitors take a picture in this photo booth,
they will see their faces depicted in various pop art styles
like the Shadows by Andy Warhol.
FACIAL EDITING GAME
The experience of beauty salon, reproduced on the theme of an actress’s
power room, begins when the visitor sits at the dressing table which is equipped
with the two-way mirror and camera, and guide screen.
Choose a model among the celebrities of Grévin Museum and take a picture
by following the guideline, then you will find your image edited
with the celebrity’s face.
RED CARPET
This is the first section you would experience among
many theme spaces of Grévin Museum. The Hallyu stars are
waiting for you in the flood of flashes. You can meet “Yon-sama”
Yong Jun Bae and the top Hallyu star in the great China region
Dong Gun Jang and also take photographs with them freely.
INTO THE MOVIES
The “Into the Movies” section is considered as the best place to take
photographs with arranged postures with wax figures as the section is filled
with famous Hollywood celebrities and particularly as Jackie Chan and
Bruce Lee who represent Asia are taking a dynamic action posture as though
they came straight out of the movie. You can also meet great actors from the movie,
< God Father > and < Ocean’s 13 > and the heroes of memorable movies.
DEDICATION
Meet the great people of the world who worked for world peace.
This section exhibits wax figures of Pope Francis who visited Korea in 2014 and
conveyed the message of love and peace and the late Soo Hwan Stephano Kim,
the first Cardinal of Korea who made great contributions to the democratization
of South Korea. Other wax figures include the leaders of human rights movement
such as Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.
